The Bay Area is full of micro climates. Materials can decay at substantially different rates based on this. Similar to the type of decay we find in Alameda, this project was full of hidden surprises and turned out to be much more than anyone originally anticipated. After many months of hard work, which occurred at the peak of the pandemic, we were able to build new decks and landings that will last more than one lifetime.
